You have probably wondered more than once, What does Brildor mean? Where does that name come from?

In this post, to mark our 30th anniversary, we will reveal the history and meaning of this very unique name.

What is the origin of BRILDOR?

Brildor began its journey under the name El Frare S.L. as a manufacturer of sewing thread in 1987 in the town of Muro de Alcoy (Alicante). Around 1990, it expanded its range of threads to include embroidery thread in a wide variety of colours, compositions, and sales formats.

With the arrival of the new millennium, in the year 2000, our current name Brildor was born as a result of the contraction of “Brillo de Oro” in honor of the characteristic shine of our PB40 embroidery thread. During this year and until 2005, the product range was expanded to include needles, frames, interlinings, and embroidery machines of different capacities and sizes under the motto “Everything for Embroidery.”

With the natural evolution of the technological era, in 2007 we began incorporating digital printing techniques into our range of products for textile professionals. This is how we started working with the sublimation technique, becoming the first Spanish company to market machinery and consumables for sublimation, which makes us the main reference in the sector thanks to our extensive experience and track record.

Since then, we have continued to grow and incorporate new personalization techniques such as transfer paper, textile vinyl, direct textile printing, rhinestones, screen printing, and even the most innovative current techniques like badges, 3D printing, and laser cutting and engraving.

With this expansion of customisation techniques, our motto evolved from “Everything for embroidery” to “Everything for customisation”. This is the commitment BRILDOR makes to its customers: to provide everything they need for their customisation business, including new customisable products and innovative machinery daily, to stay at the forefront and adapt to the needs of their clients.

Under our motto "Everything for personalization," we not only refer to materials and machinery but also to free and quality training for professionals. That is why since 2015, we have been publishing weekly video tutorials on our YouTube channel and posts with ideas and advice on our blog.
