ADVANTAGES OF ALUMINIUM SCREENS

  • High durability - longer life span than screens with iron or wooden frames
  • Resistance to corrosion humidity no rust and no degradation due to weathering humidity
  • No deformation: neither by the tension of the mesh nor by expansion. This has a direct impact on the quality of the printing because they help to keep the tensioning of the fabric unchanged mesh
  • Excellent quality/price ratio: they do not need to be replaced frequently, so the higher the production volume, the more cost-effective they become

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT NETTING

  • As a quick reference guide:
    • Textile screen printing (plastisols or high binders with high pigment load): 43 threads
    • Graphic screen printing (water-based inks for paper): 90 threads
    • Industrial screen printing (solvent inks), textile four-colour, halftone: ≥90 threads

If you want to go a little deeper:

  • The mesh is the fabric of the screen. The ink from printing passes through it during printing. They are manufactured with threads from polyester o nylon. The meshes in our screens are made of threads monofilament of polyester 100%
  • The meshes are classified according to the opening of the fabric which is measured in number of threads per centimetre. On screen printing meshes between 10h and 200h/cm are used
  • A more thread the openings the smaller the mesh will be, leaving less space for the ink to pass through. Conversely, fewer threads implies openings more
  • For print designs with a lot of detail or definition, it is advisable to use one mesh of more thread smesh, which is more closed. On the other hand, meshes of a few threads are more open and recommended for print less elaborate images such as lettering, text or geometric shapes. A design with details or small lettering requires for a good result a mesh more than 60
  • The type of ink also influences the recommendation of the number of threads in the stitches:
    • The inks more liquid meshes, such as water-based, acramine and acrylamine, pass well through small holes, allowing for a higher number of meshes. With these inks meshes up to 90h are used
    • Plastisols are denser and require smaller mesh sizes threads
    • If you need more definition you can combine the use of solvents inks solvents with a more mesh solvents with a more closed mesh, as these can pass through it more easily

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the difference between mesh white and yellow?

The mesh yellow does not refract the light and allows you to achieve greater definition in very complex designs very complex

What size of screen size do I need?

The choice of the size of the frame o frame also known as a shablon, will depend on the dimensions of the image you want to print or print.

To the size of the image you have to add 15 or 20 cm per side to get the size you need

Example: for a image of 30x40cm, it is advisable to use a frame that measures at least 45x55cm. In this case, the frame 50x60cm would be suitable

At what tension are the screens stretched?

Generally, the screens are tensioned to 27 newtons. The recommended tension value varies according to the size of the screen, the weft, the weave, the material of the screen, the screen material, and the size of the screen the weft, the weft, the material of the frame and the surface on which the screen is to be printed screen

Just as important as the tension is its evenness over the entire surface and stability over time

What happens if I receive a damaged screen damaged in transit?

The procedure is the same as for any other package you receive from us: if the package is already visibly damaged before you open it, do not sign for it. And if you decide to do so for any reason, write it down on the delivery note. If the damage was not visible until you opened the package call us or email us immediately to inform us so that we can resolve the situation in the most convenient way for both of you. You have 10 working days to claim transport damage

Two screens have arrived stuck together, what should I do?

Don't worry, it's easy to solve. Take them out of the package and separate them from the others. Don't try to pull them apart by pulling on the frames. Instead, tap them gently on the floor at a slight angle. This should separate them without damaging them. If this doesn't work, contact us
