Water-based screen printing inks are also known as aqueous inks.
One of the main characteristics of water-based inks is that they are environmentally friendly, as they do not contain any harmful chemical components.
Another important aspect is that they achieve a smoother finish than plastisol inks. They do not leave a plastic touch on the fabric as they soak into it.
We should also mention that water-based screen printing inks air dry. However, it is recommended that you apply heat after printing to ensure that the design adheres perfectly to the fabric.
On the other hand, there are two types of water-based inks, clear and opaque binders:
- Opaque binders are used on dark fabrics because of their opacity.
- Clear binders are transparent and therefore used on light garments for better results.
